Educational Visits Advice and Guidance
This page sets out our Educational Visits Advice and Guidance service. If you are looking for General Health and Safety or Data Protection Advice please visit our partner edSAFETY for support.
The Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC) role is a complex one, which carries a lot of responsibility. That’s why there’s a requirement in DfE guidance and health and safety legislation that EVCs must have access to competent advice and have the appropriate skills and knowledge to fulfil the role.
At EVOLVE Advice we provide advice, guidance, and training to schools on all matters related to educational visits, as well as reviewing and approving your more complex visits. Our advice helps schools to ensure visits are safe and that they meet the relevant legal, safety and safeguarding requirements.
-
Educational Visits Advisers (sometimes called Outdoor Education Advisers) provide competent, educational visits advice to schools and education settings. Advisers support Educational Visits Coordinators to fulfil their responsibilities and, in some cases, approve educational visits on behalf of the employer (where this isn’t delegated to the head).
See OEAP National Guidance document 3.4d Outdoor Education Adviser for more about the role of the Educational Visits Adviser.
